Modi government has decided to create five new districts in the Union Territory of Ladakh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed this news. He said that the people of Ladakh will benefit from the creation of new districts.
On this occasion, Amit Shah said that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the all-round development of Ladakh. However, while the people of Ladakh are demanding statehood, the Center has formed five more districts.
Amit Shah also announced the names of the new districts. Namely Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra and Changthang. With these five new districts, the total number of districts in Ladakh has reached seven.

Amit Shah reiterated that his government is committed to all-round development of Ladakh, creating better opportunities for the people and providing better governance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that the decision to create new districts is another step in Ladakh’s journey towards development. He congratulated the people of Ladakh.
