Everyone is eagerly waiting for the recently launched fastest network in India, 5G. Now, the wait is over and two of the network services Airtel and Jio have made the 5G services available to the customers. The Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani said that Jios true 5G service will reach all parts of the country by December next year.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel assured to initiate its Airtel 5G Plus service across the country by March 2024. Now, 5G is already available in some parts of India. The users of the 5G network no need to buy a new SIM to get access to the 5G network.
The managing director of Bharti Airtel, Gopal Vittal said Airtel has been at the forefront of India’s telecom revolution for the last 27 years. For us, our customers are at the core of everything we do. Our solution will therefore work on any 5G handset and the existing SIM that customers have. Both Jio and Airtel 5G will work on existing SIM cards.
Airtel rolled out 5G services in 8 cities like Delhi, Varanasi, Nagpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Siliguri. Whereas, Jio 5G services are introduced in 4 cities Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Varanasi. Users with 5G phones and either of the two networks can head to the network settings on their phone and check if their phone can run 5G or not.
