The allotment of the vacant 3,716 Rajiv Swagruha apartments in Bandlaguda and Pocharam began. The ownership of 1,413 flats in Pocharam was decided through this process as a component of the exercise.
In May this year, the Telangana directorate announced that Rajiv Swagruha flats at Bandlaguda and Pocharam would be sold to interested parties at a fixed price. Online applications were accepted from May 12 to June 14. In total for 3,716 apartments, HMDA received 39,082 applications.
The prospective owners, who were not notified of the draw’s location, were in the dark. While HMDA chaired the program at B R Ambedkar Open University, some of them made it to Saroornagar Stadium and other locations.
On condition of anonymity, a prospective buyer said, “I reached this place after being informed that the draw of lots will be organized here. When we called the HMDA authorities, they promised to send us the location address through SMS, but we did not receive it.”
While media was prohibited inside, the proceedings which went on until 7.30 pm were live-streamed on Facebook and other platforms. As stated by some prospective buyers, the HMDA held the proceedings without a functional sewerage system, parking, or occupancy clearance from the GHMC. Barring the three BHK Deluxe flats, the drawing of lots for Bandlaguda apartments will be held today.
