Anna Hazare fires on Kejriwal

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare breathed fire on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over Delhi Liquor Policy fiasco. Anna Hazare, who once mentored and guided Arvind Kejriwal as his dearest protege, breathed fire on Delhi CM alleging that Kejriwal has been intoxicated by power. The 85-yr-old leader wrote a letter to Arvind Kejriwal finding fault with latter’s corrupt ways. He pointed out that the way Aam Admi Party (AAP) Government has been running Delhi is not in accordance with the ideals and aspirations of common man.

As CBI raided AAP’s senior leader Manish Sisodia’s residence over corruption allegations in case of ‘Delhi Liquor Policy’ and allotment of liquor licenses for bribes, AAP Government has been facing a tough situation. Even the reputation of AAP as a party committed to anti-corruption measures has also been suffering. In this backdrop Anna Hazare condemned Arvind Kejriwal’s style of governance. He expressed displeasure that instead of bringing in Lokpal and controlling corruption, Kejriwal Government has been getting into corruption through liquor policy and anti-woman measures.

It may be recalled here that AAP took birth from the India Anti-Corruption Movement held in 2011-12. Many middle class Indians saw AAP as a hope for clean politics and as an anti-corruption brigade. Riding on people’s support AAP came into power in Delhi and Arvind Kejriwal became CM.
