Andhra Pradesh Liquor Scam: Former AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has twice commented “We have done lot of good for the people, implemented many welfare schemes and developed the education system. But we don’t know where all those votes went or why we lost. Only God knows.” He has not acknowledged that the people were against him. This led to his defeat. Instead they took over the management of liquor shops This guise allowed Jagan and his associates to orchestrate a massive liquor scam. Over five years, they looted from manufacturing to purchasing. Also supplying and selling liquor. This scam worth thousands of crores, allegedly involved Jagan Mohan Reddy. Additionally MPs Peddireddy Mithun Reddy and Vijayasai Reddy. Companies in the names of their proxies received liquor orders worth ₹10,000 crore over five years as evidence of this scam.

After the YSRCP government took power it implemented a new liquor policy. They took over distilleries and breweries to produce “J brands” and sold them to the public. Only those who paid the demanded commission received liquor orders. They disregarded previous brands jeopardizing public health. Allegations suggest this entire scam was overseen by MP Mithun Reddy. IT advisor Kasireddy is also accused of facilitating commissions to the boss.

One of the largest distilleries in Andhra Pradesh is SPY Agro Industries in Nandyal. It was unofficially taken over by MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy; they produced “J brands” from Centenary Bioproducts Distilleries in Krishna District. Between October 2, 2019 and November 2021 SPY Agro Industries received supply orders for 1.16 crore cases of liquor worth ₹1863 crore.

Regarding Vijayasai Reddy there are allegations of him embezzling large sums by setting up company in his son-in-law’s proxy name. Adan Distilleries Private Limited was established in Hyderabad on December 2, 2019. Despite not owning a single distillery they unofficially took over Visakha Distilleries Private Limited. PMK Distillation Private Limited. SPY Agro Industries under sublease. They produced and sold “J brands” there. Over the past four and a half years, they reportedly secured supply orders worth ₹4000 crore although this is unofficial.
