Arvind Kejriwal announced that he will resign from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi and chose Atishi as the new CM. He commented that Atishi is the leader who can properly handle the responsibilities of the Chief Minister.
It is known that Kejriwal, who was jailed on corruption charges, came out on bail. Kejriwal will hand over his resignation letter along with Delhi Lieutenant Governor on Tuesday evening. In this order, Kejriwal met senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Atishi was selected as the new CM of Delhi. The sources say that when Arvind Kejriwal proposed Atishi’ name in the legislative party meeting, all the leaders unanimously approved it. However, there is a debate in the political circles as to why Atishi was selected but not all of the senior leaders in the party. According to the opinions of AAP sources and political analysts, these are the reasons for Atishi’s selection.
There are no corruption charges against Atishi and she is a close confidant of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. She played a key role in the formation of Delhi’s education model.
