“Ayodhya Welcomes the Future: Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Inauguration by PM Modi”

The Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhyadham, a new and significant development in Ayodhya, is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This inauguration, scheduled for December 30, 2023, is part of a series of events leading up to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22, 2024. The airport, named after the legendary poet Valmiki, author of the epic Ramayana, symbolizes a blend of cultural heritage and modern infrastructure.

Alongside the airport, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Junction. The inauguration of these projects is significant for the region, marking a major milestone in the development of Ayodhya’s infrastructure. The airport, initially called the ‘Maryada Purshottam Shri Ram Ayodhya International Airport’, has been redesigned and now features a new terminal building. This terminal spans 6,500 square meters and is equipped to handle 600 peak-hour passengers, with an annual capacity of accommodating 10 lakh passengers.

Furthermore, the airport’s future expansion plans include the construction of a larger terminal building covering 50,000 square meters, designed to manage 3,000 passengers during peak hours and up to 60 lakh passengers annually. The cost of the first phase of construction for the airport is estimated to be approximately Rs 1,450 crore.

The inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhyadham is a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and tourism potential in the region, furthering Ayodhya’s emergence as a prominent cultural and religious destination.
