Ex-Pakistan Captain Inzamam: “They’ve started again, these guys,” say netizens in comments. Pakistani cricketers are unable to digest Team India’s progress in the T20 World Cup, leading to various comments and attempts to smear Team India, causing a stir on social media.

The situation has become reminiscent of the saying, “It’s not because the mother-in-law hit, but because the co-daughter-in-law laughed.” While Pakistan players are fine and enjoying themselves abroad with their families, it is Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former cricketer who once shone in Pakistan cricket, who is upset despite having no direct involvement. Netizens question why he, of all people, is troubled.

*The issue began when former cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq made controversial comments. If someone random had said it, no one would care, but being a senior cricketer and the recent Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board, it is seen as inappropriate. Inzamam accused Team India of ball-tampering in the match against Australia, questioning how reverse swing was possible with a new ball and suggesting umpires keep a close eye on Indian bowlers.*

This led to Indian netizens mocking Inzamam online, saying that seeking fame by accusing India is not the way

*In the 2023 ODI World Cup held in India, the Pakistan team played as usual and went home quietly. Following allegations of conflicting interests, Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was the Chief Selector at the time, resigned. There were also criticisms of Inzamam making deals with companies for marketing and commercial promotions involving several Pakistani players. Netizens have dug up all these issues and are ridiculing him extensively online.
