Bathukamma festival celebrations were held at the prestigious India Gate on Tuesday. The celebrations were held under the aegis of Union Ministry of Culture and Tourism. As the Minister heading Culture and Tourism portfolios, Kishan Reddy, hails from Telangana, he took special care to organise Bathukamma festival celebrations at India Gate in New Delhi. This is the first time in the history, when Bathukamma celebrations have been held officially in the national capital New Delhi.
Celebrities, professionals, sportspersons, officials and people from different walks of life participated in the Bathukamma celebrations at India Gate. The newly inaugurated Karthavya Path beamed with festivity, cheer and floral beauty as women played Bathukamma in large numbers.
“Bathukamma festival has a special place in the hearts of Telangana people. Bathukamma represents Telangana culture and tradition. We have organised Bathukamma celebrations at India Gate, Delhi to popularise it all our India,” said G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region.
