AVN Reddy, candidate backed by BJP won Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad teachers constituency MLC elections. Chenna Keshava Reddy backed up TRS came as the runner up. Harshavardhan Reddy backed by Congress could not give a fight.
With BJP rearing to hoist saffron flag in Telangana in 2023 and TRS Sarkar stuck in a pool of serious problems, the victory of BJP in MLC election comes as an important development in Telangana politics.
Counting for MLC elections stared on Thursday morning and continued till the wee hours of Friday. Officials declared AVN Reddy as winner on Friday morning. As soon as the results were announced AVN Reddy met Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay. Bandi Sanjay congratulated AVN Reddy and thanked teachers for trusting BJP.
Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy thanked the teachers for trust in BJP. He stressed that the victory of BJP in MLC elections proved how fed up are Telangana people over TRS government and looking towards BJP as an alternative.
