70 Padma awardee doctors on Sunday wrote a letter to India’ Prime minister Narendra Modi, expressing deep concern and anguish over the recent r…e and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. Padma awardee doctors have requested Pm Modi immediate intervention to address the issue and combat violence against healthcare professionals.
70 Padma Shri awardees from the field of medicine in the country have written a key letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should intervene in the current situation in the country and said that such cruel measures will have a severe impact on the medical services.

Former Director General of ICMR, Dr. Balaram Bhargava, former Director of Delhi AIIMS, among those who wrote to Prime Minister Modi. Randeep Guleria, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences Director Dr. SK Sarin and others were present.
Padma Shri awardees doctors asked PM Modi for a special law to be brought as soon as possible to deal with the incidents of violence against those working in the medical field. They demanded that better safety regulations be implemented in hospitals. They demanded that a special ordinance be brought to punish those who commit physical assaults on medical personnel.
