A functionary of the Bahujan Samaj Party BSP submitted a representation to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) objecting to certain features in the flag of Thalapathy Vijay Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Complaint centres on the use of elephants in Vijay’s party flag, a symbol the BSP claims holds significant sentimental value for their party.
BSP representative, who filed the complaint against Vijay emphasised the longstanding association between BSP and elephant symbol as he said: We have been using our election symbol, elephant, in our flags and as our symbol. Blue flag and elephant are BSP’ national identity.
