Well, this can be termed as a festival news to the students. Why? The reason is pretty simple: summer vacations have been extended, which has been announced today. Conventionally, summer vacations range from mid-April until mid-June for a period of 50-60 days, post which reopening occurs. However, at times, the governments tend to extend these summer vacations. Recently, it was announced that summer vacations in Chhattisgarh have been extended until June 25. Now, besides this, one more good news has emerged—schools will remain closed for an additional 12 days, till July 1. Here’s the reason why and where this is happening:

Although the June monsoon has cooled the weather in our region, in the northern areas, intense heat continues. Severities of heat were causing people much agony. The Meteorological Department issued heatwave warnings for many northern states. UP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan are the states going through scorching heat with temperatures crossing more than 40 degree Celsius every day. This excessive heat and heatwaves are posing a threat to the health of infants and small children.

In this context, various states have issued orders to extend summer vacations. Following the heatwave condition conditions, the UP government has also decided to extend summer vacations till July 1. Orders have already been issued in UP to extend summer vacations for students up to the 8th grade in municipal schools.

Besides UP, six states have decided to extend summer vacations up till July 1. Summer vacations in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana have been extended up to July 1. In Delhi, the holidays are extended till June 30. Summer holidays in Chhattisgarh have been extended till June 25.
