Chandrababu Kuppam House: Bribery in Government Affairs in Andhra Pradesh

Chandrababu Kuppam House: Bribery in Government Affairs in Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh, government officials only get work done if they are bribed. The relevant files move forward only when bribes are given. This has been the situation for five years. Do you know who the victims of this are? TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu. A case has recently come to light where a deputy surveyor took a bribe to subdivide the land for his house.

Going into the details, Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP chief and then opposition leader during the YSRCP government, purchased land for a house in the Shivapuram area of Kadapalle Panchayat in Shantipuram Mandal, within the Kuppam constituency. TDP leaders applied to convert the agricultural land adjacent to the national highway for the construction of the house.

They applied for a land-use change and requested the sub-division of the land. Deputy Surveyor Saddam Hussain openly demanded a bribe to process the request, asking for approximately 1.8 lakh rupees. Having no other option, the leaders paid the bribe, and the file moved forward.

Cut to the present, the TDP came to power in the recent elections. On June 25, CM Chandrababu visited his Kuppam constituency. During a discussion at the local R&B Guest House with local leaders, this issue came up. The matter caught the attention of the Collector, who immediately ordered an investigation. It was found that the deputy surveyor indeed took the bribe. The Joint Collector instructed the ED to submit a report by the evening. Consequently, orders were issued to suspend Deputy Surveyor Saddam Hussain.

People are questioning what ordinary citizens can expect if such situations arise even for the then opposition leader.
