72-year-old CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury passed away yesterday following prolonged illness. Top political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee, condoled his death. Megastar Chiranjeevi said that the death of Sitaram Yechury, National General Secretary of CPM, has shocked him. He made a post on X.
Chiru said that he has been on a political journey for more than five decades. Ever since he started his journey as a student activist, he has been the voice of the common and downtrodden communities.

The Vishmbhara star expressed his condolences to Sitaram Yechury’ family, his fans and the CPM faction. Yechuri’s commitment to public service and country will be remembered forever, he said.
Sitaram Yechury was admitted to AIIMS on 19th August for treatment of pneumonia and he passed away at 3:05 PM yesterday. The family has donated Sitaram Yechury’ body to AIIMS, New Delhi for teaching and research purposes.
