Double Ismart, starring the young and energetic actor Ram Pothineni and Kavya Thapar in the lead roles, was released on August 15, 2024, on the occasion of Independence day across multiple Indian languages. Directed by Puri Jagannadh of Temper fame, Double Ismart is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada after the release in just 21 days. Though the movie was just average in theaters, it remains to be seen how the OTT viewers will respond.

Puri Jagannadh is known as a dashing and daring director in Tollywood. It is known that Puri Jaganandh’ Ligar, which received blockbuster hits that surprised even the critics, was a huge disaster. On the other hand, Ram Pothineni got bogged down with flops with a series of movies.
Double Ismart was made as a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Ismart Shankar. Due to this, there are huge expectations on this movie. The teaser, trailer and songs got a good response. But after the release, it received the negative response. Due to that, Double Smart collections did not do well at the box office. Earlier it was heard that Double iSmart would be streaming on OTT on September 27. But, the movie is premiering on Amazon Prime OTT from today.
