Former CJ NV Ramana Offers a Helping Hand to Telugu States Flood Victims

Heavy rains that stirred unprecedented flooding and displacement of people sent the whole of the Telugu states into a tizzy. Several noted personalities came forward to extend a helping hand. Among them, former Supreme Court Chief Justice NV Ramana also announced substantial donations to the affected communities.

NV Ramana declared ₹10 lakh each to the flood victims in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Already he has given the amount to the Resident Commissioners of those states. NV Ramana said he was deeply saddened by the sufferings of the people affected due to the flood. The devastating effect of the floods moved him, he said. He called upon one and all to come forward and extend the helping hand in this hour of crisis.

He said the loss of innocent lives due to unprecedented floods had been a source of immense grief. The former CJ also praised the work done in this regard by the state governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, saying both the dispensations under their respective Chief Ministers strive hard to better the situation.

Justice NV Ramana further appealed to the central government to intervene and extend a helping hand to the two Telugu states. He said such calamities needed a collective effort to help the victims, and every section of society must come forward and contribute in whatever possible way to alleviate the suffering of the flood victims.

NV Ramana’s contribution at this critical juncture and his call to support attract the need for collective responsibility and humanitarian assistance in times when natural calamities are spreading across the world. His efforts will go a long way in mitigating relief and rebuilding the lives of the people affected by floods along with the people and organizations.
