Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to promptly develop plans for large-scale production of green energy in the state. During an extensive review meeting at the SPDCL office on Friday, he discussed increasing green energy production and generating income for various sectors.

He instructed that 22 special villages be selected as pilot projects where solar power for farmers’ agricultural pump sets would be installed entirely at the government’s expense. This electricity should then be integrated into the power grid. This initiative aims not only to provide income from crops for the farmers but also to ensure a regular income through solar power each year. Additionally, solar power should be installed in households in these 22 villages under the pilot project, ensuring saturation at the government’s expense.

The plan also includes setting up solar production centers for DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s native village, Kondareddipalle, along with Siripuram in the Madhira constituency, and 20 other villages across the state will be part of this initiative. The government’s primary objective is to generate income for the residents of these villages through solar power.

Selected self-help groups in the state will be encouraged to establish solar power production centers ranging from five to ten megawatts. Banks will provide loans to these self-help groups to set up solar production centers. The government will purchase electricity from these solar power plants on a buy-back basis. This initiative aims to empower members of self-help groups as entrepreneurs through green energy.

The government is committed to developing women as entrepreneurs. Overall, the plan is to create financial self-sufficiency for farmers, the poor, and self-help groups in rural areas through green energy. This initiative will help meet the state’s electricity needs and provide economic benefits to various sectors.
