GVMC Issues Stop Work Notice to YSRCP for Party Office Construction in Visakhapatnam

The GVMC has issued a show cause notice to the YSRC Party for the immediate stoppage of work in progress on their party office being constructed at Yendada village, Visakhapatnam. The notice was in regard to unauthorized construction activities undertaken on a two-cent plot at the site.

Notice Details

The Town Planning Officer of GVMC Zone-II, S Varaprasada Rao, provided in the notice, “The YSRCP applied for building permission with the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority, whereas the site comes under GVMC’s jurisdiction, due to which proper permission from GVMC has to be taken.

Unauthorized Construction

Though monitoring was done on the application, VMRDA continued to allow unauthorized construction of an RCC ground floor and the first floor on the two-cent plot. This led GVMC to issue a show-cause notice to stop the construction work immediately.

Required Action

The GVMC administration has asked the authorized representative of YSRCP to furnish a written explanation within seven days from the date of receipt of this notice. Further action will be initiated in light of legal procedure if no reply is received within the stipulated time.

GVMC’s intervention makes it very crystal clear that proper procedure and permissions need to be cashed in to undertake construction. The YSRCP has to clear the allegation to its satisfaction now, lest it risks action according to the law and the prevailing municipal rules.
