‘Andhra Pradesh’ has been having heavy relentless rains since the last couple of days, they stated, and gave an indication that the same would continue. Elaborating, it added that the impact of surface winds and monsoonal activity would lead to moderate to heavy rainfall not just in the coastal regions but also in the Rayalaseema districts of the state. Further, it gave a warning that the wave activity would be more till Monday afternoon along the coasts.
Officials have forecast that there will be gale wind speed of 45-55 kmh along the northern and southern coasts of Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, districts including heavy rainfall during the cessation period are Kakinada, Konaseema, East, and West Godavari, Kurnool, Bapatla, Vizianagaram, Alluri Sitarama Raju, and Anakapalli.

Massive surges might be seen from Nachugunta to Peddagollapalem and from Antarvedi to Perumallapuram in the Krishna coastal district. People residing in all these areas have been advised to always be extra-vigilant. In Nellore, from Coromandel to Vatturupalem, and the coastal areas in West Godavari, high-speed waves are expected. The weather department has advised all the people involved in harbor and marine activities to be watchful as the sea would be rough.
The Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Center has asked fishermen not to sail along and off the North Bay of Bengal due to the rough condition of the sea. Srinivas from the cyclone warning center was of the view that the sea would be very rough and is not conducive for fishing.

“The weather office has alerted that this monsoon activity is likely to be accompanied by lightning. It has been advised that in the event of thunder, farmers accompanying animals, along with laborers, have to take care to stay in safe places. The district administration is also keeping vigil and updating news bulletins.
Efforts are currently under way to ensure that this negative outcome is reduced as much as possible for the lives and infrastructure in the state, as the rains persist.
