People are coming to the city in huge numbers for jobs in IT and other sectors, while on the other hand, the city is expanding on all sides. Apart from jobs, people are coming to the city in large numbers for education, business, and medical purposes. This inflow of people, from all districts in the State and Andhra Pradesh, is not only inconveniencing but also giving traffic headaches. The situation worsens when it rains. To overcome this, the government has taken up the construction of flyovers and underpasses.

Government Measures: Flyovers and Underpasses

The government is constructing not only flyovers, underpasses, and foot-over bridges but also widening roads wherever necessary. The projects of the cable bridges are in operation to control traffic and develop as tourist spots. In this context, another cable bridge is ready to be built in Hyderabad by the Revanth government. The existing cable bridge at Durgam Cheruvu is already attracting tourists, and now plans are being made for a similar bridge. The government is all set to turn the Mir Alam Tank near the Old City into a tourism hub. Plans for this bridge construction are being readied by the HMDA.
