Demolition of Illegal construction continues in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Development Authority (HYDRA) is actively continuing the demolition of illegal constructions across the city. Recently, the authorities focused their efforts on the Kavuri Hills Park area in Madhapur, responding to complaints received regarding unauthorized structures.

On Monday morning, HYDRA officials directed their attention to the Kavuri Hills Park, where certain encroachers had begun constructing buildings within the park’s premises. The Kavuri Hills Association members had formally lodged complaints with HYDRA, prompting the authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly. After gathering sufficient details, the officials proceeded to remove the illegal constructions, which included buildings associated with a local sports academy.

Using bulldozers, the demolition process commenced early on Monday, and signs were put up to mark the area as Kavuri Hills Park, reinforcing the legitimacy of the park’s boundaries. However, the demolition actions sparked a reaction from the sports academy’s management. They contended that the Kavuri Hills Association had granted them a lease for a duration of 25 years, and expressed frustration that their structures were being dismantled before the lease term had expired.

This ongoing situation highlights the tension between urban development regulations and local interests, as authorities aim to reclaim public spaces while residents and businesses argue for their established rights. The outcome of this conflict remains to be seen as both parties prepare for further discussions regarding the future of the Kavuri Hills Park and its surrounding areas.
