“Indian Railways to Add 3,000 Daily Trips, Aiming to Clear Waiting Lists”

Under the leadership of Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Indian Railways is actively working to enhance its operational efficiency and accommodate the growing demand for rail services. Currently, the railway system is executing a commendable 10,754 daily train trips, and there are ambitious plans to expand this number by an additional 3,000 trips. The primary objective behind this initiative is to bring down waiting lists to zero, ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers.

This strategic move is expected to have a dual impact – not only meeting the increasing demand for passenger travel but also optimizing the logistics for goods transportation. By adding more train trips, the Indian Railways aims to free up tracks, thereby facilitating quicker and more efficient movement of both passengers and goods. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s vision underscores a commitment to modernizing rail infrastructure, aligning with the broader goal of enhancing connectivity and transportation services across the country. Notably, the current operation reflects an impressive 568 more daily trips compared to the pre-COVID-19 period, showcasing the resilience and adaptability of the Indian Railways in responding to evolving challenges.
