The ‘Rebel Star’ Prabhas-starrer “Kalki 2898 AD” is breaking box office records by reaching all audiences, across regions and languages. Another record milestone has been added to the movie’s kitty; the film races ahead with its record collections. Let’s find out more about this achievement.

Helmed by Nag Ashwin, “Kalki 2898 AD” has carved out a whole new world that has left the film audiences spellbound. The visuals are at par with any Hollywood movie, and this movie has elevated Tollywood to another level. Audiences are feeling proud that such a creative director is there within the Tollywood industry. Nag Ashwin has carved out a role for Prabhas that perfectly matches his stature, and he has brought in an extraordinary performance.

Apart from Prabhas, noted Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who played the role of Ashwatthama, has also given a strong movement with mass action scenes; his towering presence and acting have made an impact. One such MB highlight is the action between Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, which might give goosebumps in theatres. The director came up with out-of-the-box thinking to relate the Mahabharata to the present times, which was praised. Released worldwide on June 27, “Kalki 2898 AD” received a phenomenal response. Produced under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner by Ashwini Dutt, the movie, which was made on a budget of around Rs. 600 crore is promising huge profits.

The movie has been raining collections at the box office. Nizam, grossing has been of Rs. 100 crore; in the two Telugu states, the film fetched some Rs. 242 crore. Grossing in Bollywood has been Rs. 164 crore, while in Tamil Nadu, it has collected Rs. 24 crore. It also fetched Rs. 15 crore in Kerala and Rs. 25 crore in Karnataka, breaking previous records set by Prabhas’s earlier films. Abroad, “Kalki 2898 AD” collected $14.5 million in all-time fastest collection records.

Continuing to break its own records and setting newer ones, Prabhas’s “Kalki 2898 AD” soars high. The worldwide share of the film has reached Rs. 363.09 crore and the gross has reached Rs. 750 crore in just 8 days. With holidays starting from next week, the box office collections are expected to further rise.
