2.Tops Among Asian Cricketers: Mendis, who featured in just seven Test matches thus far, has scored 809 runs in 11 innings, including four centuries. His average of 80.90 is the highest among the Asian batsmen who have played ten or more innings. For example, average of India’s promising young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal stands at 68.53.

3.Best Average in the World Test Championship Cycle: Mendis has the best batting average than any player with matches played above ten innings for this WTC cycle. His aggregate amount is much more than the second-best average for the last WTC season produced by Kane Williamson, at 75.2.
4.Tied with Dimuth Karunaratne: Mendis has matched the Sri Lankan batsman Dimuth Karunaratne record of most centuries in a WTC season. Karunaratne had scored four centuries in the season 2019-21; till date, Mendis has scored four centuries in the season 2023-25. Another century will make him the most century-scoring individual during this time.
5.Adding to the feat of Don Bradman: Mendis has scored four centuries in only 11 innings, he has dismantled opponents from Bangladesh to England and New Zealand. One is simultaneously placed at the same par with cricketing legend Don Bradman, who also took 11 innings to make his first four hundred.
