Kantara OTT release started on a disappointing note

Kantara is the film that gave goosebumps to the audience in recent times. It reached heights across the globe with its enchanting story and execution. Rishab Shetty directed and acted in this Kannada-based film and won global admiration.

The film was unstoppable at the theatres of all languages nearly for a couple of months and minted over Rs 370 crores across the world and finally arrived on OTT. It is now streaming on the international OTT platform Amazon Prime Video in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and English.

People are feeling excited to watch it on OTT but one thing that is making them to express their regret that the makers have removed the Varaha Roopam song from the movie and replaced it with another. Earlier, we heard that Varaha Roopam was copied from Navarasam song, which was composed by Thaikkudam Bridge, a popular band. The band also filed a petition on Kantara makers for copying it.

Now, it resorted to legal battle and won it. The court said, “The principal district and session judge, Kozhikode has injuncted the producer, director, music composer, Amazon, YouTube, Spotify, Wynk Music, Jio Saavn and others from playing the song Varaha Roopam in the film Kantara without the permission of Thaikkudam Bridge. Suit for injunction has been filed on behalf of Thaikkudam Bridge by Music Attorney, Satish Murthy, Advocate Supreme Court of India.”

Kantara is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. Vujay Kirgandur produced it under Homebale International Films. Ajaneesh Loknath is the music render and Aravind S Kashyap and Prateek Shetty possessed cinematography and editing works.
