Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, commonly known as KCR, undertook the oath as an MLA in the Speaker’s Chamber of the Assembly. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar officiated the oath ceremony. Subsequently, the leader of the opposition participated in prayers within the chamber, assuming the role of the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) leader. The event witnessed the presence of BRS MLAs and former ministers.
In the previous year’s assembly elections, KCR contested from Gajwel and Kamareddy constituencies. Unfortunately, he faced defeat in Kamareddy but secured a victory against BJP leader Etala Rajender in Gajwel. Remarkably, this marks KCR’s third consecutive term as a legislator from Gajwel.
However, KCR’s journey faced a hurdle when he accidentally slipped, breaking his hip bone just before the December assembly meetings. Following a hip operation, he received medical advice to rest at his residence in Nandinagar. Demonstrating resilience, KCR recently recovered and, despite the challenges, arrived at the assembly today with the support of a stick to fulfill his legislative responsibilities.
