Late CM’s son wins bypoll

Chandy Oommen, son of late Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy, won the bypolls held for Puthuppally Assembly constituency. The bye election was held in Puthuppally constituency, part of Kerala Assembly, due to the death of former CM Oommen Chandy.

Oommen Chandy, a two-time CM of Kerala, is a senior leader in Congress party. He breathed his last in Bengaluru in July, 2023 due to complications arising out of throat cancer. Oommen Chandy’s son Chandy Oommen (also called as Junior Chandy) was fielded in the bye election.
