Recently, an anti-pollution helmet has been introduced by a Delhi-based startup named Shellios Technolabs. The helmet is introduced with the name Puros.
It contains a Bluetooth-enabled app that will give signals to riders if it needs to be cleaned. It is integrated with a blower fan, electronic circuit, USB charging port, filter membrane, and a small circuit to purify the air.
It can clear up the air up to 80%. The air treatment system is placed at the rear of the helmet to capture pollutants before sending air inside, allowing riders to experience fresh air. The helmet is useful to avoid pollution barrels during the winter season.
To manufacture these helmets, the company also received patent rights from the government of India. Its weight is about 1.5 kg and it is having a fiberglass shell for excessive longevity. The headgear is available only in medium and large sizes is priced at Rs 4,500.
