The meteorological department said a low-pressure system has formed over the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal, which is likely to intensify into a depression while moving northwards, after reaching near the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal. It has forecast fairly widespread rainfall over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next three days. In tune, the weather department has estimated heavy rains in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and moderate rains in the Rayalaseema region. Besides this, winds up to 55 km/h are blowing along the northern Andhra coast. Because of this, fishermen were advised against going into the sea.
Floods and School Closures in NTR District
In view of the incessant rain and resultant flooding in the NTR district, the district collector announced a holiday this Friday for all government and private schools. Authorities are evacuating the low-lying areas since the relief measures are underway. Food and water are being supplied to the affected residents.

Heavy Rain Forecast for Telangana
Heavy rainfall was very likely over contiguous four days in Telangana. The Hyderabad Meteorological Center issued a weather warning for Friday in districts like Gadwal, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, and Wanaparthy. While these were the districts forecast to receive heavy rainfall, the city of Hyderabad was very likely to get moderate showers.
A yellow alert has been issued for these districts, where residents have been warned against the occurrence of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Besides this, the weather department has forecasted isolated heavy rainfall in many districts of Telangana up to September 9.
