Mayor Sunil Rao expressed his dissatisfaction with MP Bandi Sanjay’s statements regarding the development of Karimnagar. Rao, addressing the media at the SBS function hall, refuted Sanjay’s claims, asserting that the MP has not contributed to the city’s progress during his four-year tenure.
Rao highlighted that Karimnagar Smart City has received funds totaling Rs. 539 crores, with Rs. 269.5 crores sanctioned by the central and state governments. He recalled questioning the absence of Sanjay in 2017 when the Smart City was approved, emphasizing that the MP did not participate in initiating development works despite invitations.
Furthermore, Mayor Rao dismissed the possibility of manipulations in smart city bill payments, attributing Sanjay’s allegations to a habit of making false claims. The meeting saw the participation of corporators Gandhe Madhavi, Guggilla Jayashree, Yadaiah, Buchi Reddy, and leaders Sampath Reddy, Ashok, and Mahesh.
