Star the versatility of actors has always made an impact in the minds of the audience by changing the view from a singular image and experimenting with manifold roles. Decades ago, NTR and ANR did the same. The heroes are no longer the polished looking ones with fashionable costumes. Gone are also those days when actors were afraid to accept deglamorized characters.
Chiranjeevi, who conquered the topmost level in the industry through talent and self-effort, has inked himself permanently in the cinema world. He is the only big hero in a cine career who climbed up only with his brilliant talents, without any influential backing. His rare de-glamorized films have been so commendable that they leave any viewer admiring them. Today is the birthday of Mega Star Chiranjeevi. Now, let’s take a look at some of the deglamorized roles that he has portrayed.
Adarsh Role in “Aaradhana”
In the 1987 film “Aaradhana,” directed by Bharti Raja, Chiranjeevi donned an experimental role. Bharti Raja, who is always circumspect of using makeup in his movies and sought a natural getup for his artistes, kept Chiranjeevi in a fully de-glamorized role. Chiranjeevi did the role of an uneducated youth leading his life very modestly in this film. But, however de-glamorized, his presence went in support of the film, which did not particularly draw enthusiastic response from the masses.
