Megha Company bags Polavaram D Wall construction Project

The central and state governments have agreed to award the construction contract for the new Dframe wall of the Polavaram project to Megha Company. To this extent, Chandrababu Naidu met Union Hydropower Minister CR Patil on Friday night. In this meeting which was held for about an hour, they discussed about the speedy completion of the construction of the Polavaram project and the designs.

Officials of Central Water Commission (CWC) and Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) participated in this meeting. Along with Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Bhupathi Raju Srinivasavarma, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, State Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu and TDP MP Lau Srikrishna Deva Rayu were among those who met the Union Minister.

State Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu told the media that D wall was washed away due to the floods that occurred in 2022. He said that tenders were called for its repairs in 2022. Then Megha Company came forward to do 29,000 square meter diaphragm wall works at a cost of Rs.390 crores. It has been clarified that now the new D wall has to be constructed in the area of 73 thousand cubic meters.
