Myanmar – a name that needs no introduction. Under military rule, the people there are suffering severely, struggling without even basic food. In short, both the citizens and the companies there must comply with the military’s dictates or face imprisonment.

Recently, some companies raised the salaries of their employees. The military considered this a crime and arrested several company heads. This is the situation in Myanmar. The people there are oppressed under military rule. Due to the laws imposed by the military, the citizens are living in a kind of hell.

Currently, the military government has arrested and imprisoned company owners for the reason that they increased the salaries of their employees. The military claims that raising salaries amidst rising inflation is a crime. Across the country, approximately ten company owners have been jailed. Not only have they been sentenced to three years in prison, but their companies have also been shut down.

Normally, raising wages is not illegal anywhere. However, the military reasons that raising salaries during inflation could lead to unrest in the country. This has been stated in notices posted in front of shops, accusing the owners of disturbing peace and security.

There have been multiple elections in Myanmar, and governments have been formed. Nevertheless, everything must still operate under the watchful eye of the military leaders. Three years ago, Aung San Suu Kyi’s government was democratically elected. The military overthrew this government and took control. Under military rule, the country is facing a severe economic crisis. Prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed, causing great distress to the people. Despite this, the military government has not opened its eyes to the suffering of the citizens.
