A new 24-bed day care ward has been made available at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospotal and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) Telangana Governor Dr Tamilsai Sounderrajan inaugurated the new facility in the premises of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital. Tollywood star and hospital chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna was also present on the occasion.
The new day care facility has been constructed with the donation given by Dr Raja Sekhar, who established Rekha Rajasekhar Foundation, in the memory of his wife who succumbed to cancer.
Governor Dr Tamilasai Sounder Rajan appreciated the initiative undertaken by Dr Rajasekhar for setting up a foundation on his wife’s name and donating Rs 50 lakh for helping cancer patients.
Nandamuri Balakrishna also appreciated the good heart of Dr Rajashekar and urged him to take up more such initiatives to fight against cancer.
