South India International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2023 are going on in Dubai on the first day of the popular event, awards were announced for Telugu and Kannada language industries. Star hero Jr NTR and emerging star Sree Leela won the top honours at the prestigious Awards ceremony. While NTR won best actor Award for his performance in RRR, Sri Leela won best actress award for her role in Dhamaka. Both RRR and Dhamaka have become super hits.
Maverick director SS Rajamouli, who has hogged international limelight with Oscars, has received one more award in his kitty. Rajamouli was awarded with best director award for his sensation hit movie RRR. Besides best director award RRR won several other awards also. Cinematographer Senthil got best Cinematographer Award from SIIMA. MM Keeravani was adjudged best music director for his score for RRR movie. Chandrabose got best lyric writer for ‘Naatu Naatu’ song.
Coming to best film, sensible romantic drama Seetharamam won the best film at SIIMA 2023. Dulqer Salman and Mrunal Thakur starrer won audience hearts with honest portrayal of an intense love story. Many critics expressed that the movie will win many awards during the time of its release itself, keeping in view its artistic richness. Hanu Raghavapudi has directed it like a timeless masterpiece.
Daggubati Rana got best supporting actress award. Suhas got best villain award. Adivi Sesh got best actor (critics) award. Mrunal Thakur got best actress (critics) category.
