PM Modi will visit Poland on August 21-22, making it the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years.
Here are the details of the visit: On his arrival in Warsaw on August 21, PM Modi would be extended a ceremonial welcome. After this, it will be an official visit with a bilateral meeting with President Andrzej Sebastian Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The visit assumes importance because it marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. The MEA also said that Modi will meet the Indian community in Poland.
After Poland, the PM will head to Ukraine, making him the first Indian Prime Minister to visit since India and Ukraine established diplomatic relations in 1992. This visit will coincide with the celebration of Ukraine’s National Flag Day on August 23. Modi will have meetings with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and exchange views on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The discussion is likely to touch on almost every topic, starting from political and trade to economic and cultural relations, humanitarian assistance, and others. During the visit, several agreements between India and Ukraine are likely to be inked.
Apart from these engagements, PM Modi will also interact with the Indian community in Ukraine, including the students. The visit is felt to be a part of ongoing efforts to further deepen and broad-base India’s bilateral relations with Poland and Ukraine. The continuing Russia-Ukraine conflict will also come up for discussions, in which India is likely to reiterate that a solution should be found through dialogue and diplomacy, not through conflict.
