Heavy rains for the last 3 days have lashed both Telugu states- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In many areas ponds and residential areas have become waterlogged. Public life was paralyzed due to flood. The cities of Vijayawada and Guntur have experienced the worst rain in the last three and a half decades. In this context, Prime Minister Modi spoke to the Chief Ministers of Telugu states, Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy. PM Modi promised to support AP and Telangana. He said that the central government will help in all ways.

The official statement released by state govt said: Chandrababu Naidu explained about the ongoing flood relief work to PM and Modi told him that central government departments concerned have been directed to extend the necessary help to AP.Modi said departments have also been instructed to immediately dispatch necessary equipment. Naidu thanked Modi for the help.
In the wake of heavy rains, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu canceled all the programs and stayed in Vijayawada. On the other hand, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will visit the flood affected areas of Khammam district today.
