Since becoming Prime Minister for the third time, Modi has been involved in foreign visits to strengthen India’s Diplomatic relations. As a part of this process, Narendra Modi is visiting Ukraine and Poland. He will first visit Poland before visiting Ukraine. Modi shared on his social media platform, X, “Upon an invitation from President Volodymyr Zelensky, I am visiting Ukraine.”.
According to Modi, the main purpose of this visit to a foreign land was to strengthen trade and diplomatic relations between India, Ukraine, and Poland. He added that the relationship between India and Poland was as old as 70 years, and he was pretty confident that this visit would go a long way in strengthening ties.

Modi is scheduled to have some key meetings with Poland’s President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He will also meet the members of the Indian diaspora in Poland. “This will be my first visit to Ukraine as Prime Minister, and I am conscious of the ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia. I hope that Ukraine will soon see peace and its citizens will be able to live in freedom,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister will reach Ukraine on the 23rd of this month with a travel aboard Train Force One, many world leaders having traveled on the train. Modi expressed his hope that discussions during his visit to both countries will take place in a conducive environment.
India terms both Russia and Ukraine as friendly countries, so, at a time when the atmosphere between the two nations is charged with tension, Modi’s visit to Ukraine assumes great significance. The hostility between these two nations is feared to escalate into a third world war, which would prove disastrous.
