Police File Case Against Virat Kohli’s Pub in Bengaluru

Police File Case Against Virat Kohli's Pub in Bengaluru

The city police have filed a case against One8 Commune Pub, located in Bengaluru and owned by ace cricketer Virat Kohli. The move was taken following complaints that the pub remained open beyond permissible hours and created a nuisance for the residents living nearby. Based on the complaint, the police filed an FIR against One8 Commune and other pubs on MG Road in Bengaluru.

According to police reports, pubs on MG Road are allowed to remain open until 1 AM. However, local pubs, including One8 Commune, were found to be open past the permitted time. Furthermore, it was complained that the music there was too loud, running on more than the required limits and hence causing problems for residents. A consequent result of this was that police had cases registered against One8 Commune and other such pubs for flouting regulations. “We had complained about the loud music played till late at night. The investigation is on, and further action will be taken,” police said.

One8 Commune is owned by Virat Kohli, and with various branches located in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, and other metro cities. The Bengaluru branch was inaugurated in December last year and is on the sixth floor of Ratna Complex. This is not the first time that Kohli’s pub has run into controversy. This was the same pub which had last year refused entry to a man from Tamil Nadu for wearing traditional attire and that had been highlighted on social media by the latter. A case was registered in the Delhi court for playing copyrighted music and songs without permission. The court has ordered against One8 Commune Pub.
