Qualcomm opens new office in 1.8 million sqft in Hyderabad

Finally, Qualcomm has also joined the list of giant tech companies setting up huge campuses in Hyderabad by opening a new office of 1.8 million sqft at Raheja Commerzone in Madhapur, a couple of days ago. The new office can be a benefit for about 8,700 employees to work together. The office was inaugurated by the President and CEO of the company, Cristiano Amon.

The event was also graced by the CEO of Mindspace, Vinod Rohira, and CFO of Qualcomm, Akash Palkhiwala. During the visit of the IT minister KT Rama Rao to the US in March 2022, Qualcomm announced this project and said it was setting up its second largest campus in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs 3,904.5 crore over 5 years. 

The main reason behind the company choosing Hyderabad is, presence of talented manpower and good and industry friendly policies of Telangana state. The company also said that it had plans for important investments in the coming 5 years. 

The company’s portfolio includes products for processors, modems, platforms, RF systems, connectivity and related segments. At present, it is busy creating semiconductors, software and services related to wireless technology. The company is in plans to grab opportunities in various sectors like agriculture, education, connected devices and smart cities.
