Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s recent release “Mr. Bachchan,” directed by Harish Shankar, reached theatres on August 15 as an action entertainer and miserably failed. With that, the producer suffered losses, and the distributors are suffering a lot. Already, director Harish Shankar took an important decision regarding the result of the film by compromising ₹2 crores on his remuneration amount. Now, Ravi Teja also seems to join the list by compromising his remuneration amount.
As “Mr. Bachchan” underperformed, the movie incurred heavy losses upon the producer and distributors. In retaliation, Harish Shankar chopped ₹2 crores off his pay, while recent reports coming from the industry suggest that Ravi Teja too decided to take a cut of ₹4 crores off his remuneration. This is believed to be a step on the part of the actor to help mitigate the losses somewhat. Since both the hero and the director have together sacrificed ₹6 crores, partly the losses to the Nizam distributors may be covered.

“Mr. Bachchan” is a remake of the Bollywood hit film “Raid.” However, Harish Shankar gave the remake a commercial twist that turned out to be quite different from the original Hindi version. Irrespective of strong promotional activity and also the presence of actress Bhagyashree being the highlight, the movie failed to impress the audiences. For that reason, the makers are into huge losses and financial losses. The film was produced by the production house People Media Factory.
