Bigg Boss Season 8 has completed three weeks since its launch. While Bebakka, Sekhar Basha, and Abhay Naveen were eliminated in the first three weeks respectively, nominations for the fourth week’s elimination took place on Monday, followed by the commencement of voting that night. In an interesting twist, renowned director Ram Gopal Varma has stepped in to support a contestant who is on the verge of elimination. He has urged fans to vote for Sonia Akula, the contestant in question. Let’s take a look at what RGV had to say about her.
Out of the 14 celebrities who entered the Bigg Boss house this season, Telugu contestant Sonia Akula caught everyone’s attention right from the start. Initially very active in the house, she began facing criticism for her behavior as the show progressed. Despite high expectations when she entered, Sonia has often been seen with Prithviraj and Nikhil. Now, with her nomination for elimination in the fourth week, unofficial polls indicate that she is receiving the least votes.

RGV’s support: In response to this, Ram Gopal Varma posted on X (formerly Twitter), urging fans to vote for Sonia. He wrote, “Sonia Akula is a symbol of strength and attitude. This girl is playing very well in Bigg Boss. Show your love by voting for her.” He also shared a picture with Sonia.
Then and Now: Ram Gopal Varma, who once claimed to be unaware of Bigg Boss, has recently supported a contestant in every season. He tweeted in support of Ariyana Glory in Season 4 and later backed Sri Rapaka in Bigg Boss Non-Stop. Now, RGV is lending his support to Sonia Akula in the ongoing Season 8. Notably, he had already shown his backing for Sonia by sending her a video of support during her entry into the house.
For this week’s elimination, seven contestants are nominated: Sonia, Aditya, Prithvi, Manikanta, Nainika, Nabeel, and Prerana. However, as the house leader, Nikhil was given a special power by Bigg Boss to save one nominee, and he chose to save Nainika. Thus, six contestants remain in the elimination race. We’ll have to wait until Sunday to see if RGV’s tweet increases Sonia’s votes or not!
