As Roger Binny was the only candidate to file for nominations for BCCI president elections, he has been unanimously elected.

Roger Binny hails from Karnataka and also served as Karnataka Cricket Association president in the past. He has also done several roles in cricket administration. With Binny, a successful cricketer becoming BCCI president, cricket fraternity feels that the good work done by former BCCI chief Ganguly will continue.

Roger Binny succeeds star cricketer-turned-sports administrator Sourav Ganguly as BCCI chief. Though Ganguly wanted to serve a second term, he was denied a second term. It is believed that Ganguly was denied a second term, as he did not dance to the tunes of BJP Government at Centre. Though Ganguly tried for second term, he didn’t contest to ensure that new BCCI chief is elected unanimously.
