Sabarmati Express derails: Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed the engine “struck an object and derailed”. Ashwini added Intelligence Bureau will investigate this train accident case.
20 coaches of 19168 Sabarmati Express passenger train derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur during early morning on Saturday.
NCR senior public relations officer Shashikant Tripathi said that the train accident occurred at 2.30 am. There is no report of loss of life or the property in this accident. Train was going from Varanasi to Ahmedabad. Rescue and the relief operations are underway. The train derailed between Kanpur & Bhimsen railway station in Uttar Pradesh.

Indian Railways has sent the buses to help the passengers reach Kanpur and arrangements have been made for the passengers to continue their journey to Ahmedabad.
Loco pilot revealed that some boulder hit front portion of train engine that got badly damaged.
The railway official revealed that 7 trains have been cancelled and 3 diverted due to the derailment.
