“Salaar’s OTT Premiere Marks a Global Cinematic Triumph”

The cinematic powerhouse featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire,’ directed by Prashanth Neel, has set new benchmarks, grossing an impressive Rs 700 crore worldwide since its theatrical release on December 22. With an impactful 28-day run in theaters, the film’s journey on the big screen is drawing to a close, paving the way for its much-anticipated digital premiere on Netflix, scheduled for January 20. The availability in multiple languages—Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu—ensures a wider audience for the mass action spectacle.

The film has resonated strongly with audiences, earning widespread acclaim and earning the prestigious status of a blockbuster in 2023 during its successful commercial run. Riding high on this success, the makers have already announced ‘Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam.’ Set to begin filming in March 2024, the sequel is scheduled for release in 2025, promising to carry forward the riveting narrative.

‘Salaar’ boasts a stellar cast including Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, Tinnu Anand, Bobby Simha, Devaraj, John Vijay, Sriya Reddu, among others. The film’s recent success bash, attended by Akhil Akkineni, has sparked speculation about his potential role in Part 2, adding an intriguing layer to the anticipation surrounding the sequel.
