Right after the release of back-to-back films Shaakuntalam and Kushi, Tollywood beauty queen Samantha is currently keeping away from Telugu cinema. However, on her birthday, she stunned the fans and said that she was to produce one movie and future details of her working in the industry will be revealed. But she presently seems to be focusing on Bolly.
Samantha’s Bollywood Focus: Citadel and Beyond
She is presently busy with her Bollywood web series entitled Citadel: Honey Bunny, written and directed by Raj and DK. It’s an out-and-out spy-action thriller that features Samantha alongside the heartthrob of Bollywood, Varun Dhawan. This particular series, which is creating huge expectations, completed its shooting a while ago and is set to stream from November 7 on Amazon Prime Video. This is Samantha’s second web series for the same directors, Raj and DK, after the hugely successful The Family Man 2.
After Citadel, Samantha is also said to be signed in for another Bollywood film. Rakht Brahmand has the actor in a very important role. Aditya Roy Kapur and Wamiqa Gabbi are also part of the cast in this project directed by Rahi Anil Barve and produced by Raj and DK in collaboration with Netflix. This project, coming in quick succession, indicates one thing: Samantha is seriously trying to consolidate her base in Bollywood.

A Strategic Move Towards Pan-Indian Cinema
And what’s more, Samantha seems to have focused only on Bollywood for now. Sources tell us that she has kept the Telugu cinema on the back burner ever since she has been getting plenty of offers for Pan-India projects in Tollywood. She seems to be ignoring those and instead focused on Hindi films and the web series lined up to build a strong existence in the Hindi film industry.
As the success of The Family Man: Season 2 could well be a big determinant in making her give more time to Bollywood, since then Samantha has been mostly in Mumbai and very less in Hyderabad.
Personal Choices and Professional Priorities
Adding fuel to the gossip is the news of ex-husband Naga Chaitanya getting engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala. Maybe this is what has pushed Samantha to stay in Mumbai for a while as she focuses back on her fast-growing career in cinema and the new ventures she has been taking in Bollywood. For now, all eyes are on bigger and Pan-Indian projects for Samantha in her new inning as she wants to make her mark in the Hindi film industry.
