It’s official now. Siddaramiah, the former Chief Minister and Opposition party leader in Assembly, will once again serve as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. While there were intense discussions and deliberations over, the choice of CM candidate, Congress party finally decided to go with Siddaramaiah.
Siddaramaiah and DK Shiva Kumar were in the race for CM post and both left no stone unturned to get the top job. In fact both had played a key role in bringing Congress back to power in Karnataka. But finally Congress High Command zeroed in on Siddaramaiah.
While Siddaramaiah is the CM, DK Shiva Kumar will be the deputy chief Minister. Besides Deputy CM, DKS is expected to get powerful portfolios. Though DK Shiva Kumar was unhappy with the decision, he is said to have accepted Congress High Command’s choice, keeping in view the party’s interests.
