Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah fired on the BJP Government at Centre calling it as ‘Neech’. The reason for Siddaramiah’s ire was the BJP Government’s denial for supplying rice to Karnataka state.
The rift between Congress govt in Karnataka and BJP Government at Centre became evident when latter denied to supply rice to Karnataka. The southern state govt had asked for rice as it wanted to use it to distribute through ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme, which was one of the key poll promises of Congress during the Assembly election campaign. According to the Anna Bhagya scheme, Govt will distribute additional 5 kg rice to every eligible household in the state.
As there is no sufficient rice, Siddaramaiah Sarkar is distributing cash in lieu of rice. Karnataka CM Siddaramiah further said that Modi Sarkar has denied supplying rice, though Karnataka was ready to pay for it. He pointed out that Modi Sarkar is against the poor and the denial of rice itself proves it.
