BRS MLC K Kavitha got a huge relief in the Supreme Court as the court granted her bail in the Delhi Liquor Policy case.
Arguments on the bail petition filed by her lasted for about an hour and a half. After hearing the arguments of both sides, a bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice Viswanathan granted bail to BRS MLC K Kavitha. The bench observed that there is no need for the accused to remain in jail as the charge sheet has already been filed in this case.

During the hearing, Supreme Court bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan asked the ED and the CBI to show what “material” they had to prove that K Kavitha was involved in Delhi excise policy scam. The advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for MLC Kavitha, sought bail saying probe against her had been completed by 2 agencies.
The court has granted bail to Kavitha in both the cases. It is said that the bail is being granted keeping in mind the fact that the accused is a woman. MLC Kavitha, who has been in Tihar Jail for five months, will be released today. Meanwhile, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi on behalf of Kavitha and ASG on behalf of ED heard arguments in this case.
